Okay, 5 top news for today!
1. I overslept today. My definition of oversleeping is never past the time i have anything on. For example, if my class starts at 8, when i wake up at 730 instead of 700, it means i have overslept!
And i woke up at 930 today. I heard the alarm ring when i was in a dream where i was pulling teeth off. Dont ask me how, cause i have no frickin idea. I just did, and mind you, it was really so freaky and mind-blowing. So i THINK i groggily turned it off, and finally shocked myself awake somehow at 930.
But i have this amazing capability to be able to get dressed and washed up in record time when i'm in a rush, and i still managed to make my lunch, at the expense of my breakfast though, and reached school at 10.05. Impressive, considering i still cycled like mad crazy girl up the hill and down the slope, while munching on my bread.
Fact No. 2: I forgot that i had an assignment due for diploma plus, and it accounts for my CA results. Been so complacent cause i did well for my attachment. Dont wanna brag, but well is really an understatement. You could say well, if you considered a full score well. Not that i'm complaining or saying i don't deserved that, but i guess it seems pretty easy. 'Cept for the waking up at dawn every morning just to take the sardine-packed train all the way to Toa Payoh, but it was good, facing unique and interesting patients everyday, and tryna deal with the not-so-frequent shit.
But i did it in record time again, while mentors went down to the mice room where we are not allowed access to.
Pretty cool. Hehhehe.
The good news is, Dr Adrian Yeo actually replied, Ok, thks to it. I didn't offer an explanation cause i don't really see a point, since late assignment is late, and i totally was prepared to get punished for that. Kudos to him! Probably it's because i handed my first assignment way early before the deadline ;)
*Goody two shoes*
News 3:
I lost my current favourite pen. & my Yves Rocher Lip Balm from Europe. *double sad face mulitply by inifinity*
Probably not but..
Sigh.
It's not so convenient to get a good and colourful pen for a cheap price cause the nearest book store is the Bookstore in Price Centre, and it's not that good, plus expensive AND not pretty.
It's my first bright green pen some more :(
News 4: I got addicted to a book i found on the Pool Table tonight, and i was reading it for 2 flat hours, and 1 hour of distracted reading. It's titled Unforgivable Blackness and not usually my genre cause it's a biography of this guy named Jack Johnson, and his rise and fall.
It's about him being a boxer, but the reason why people are interested in him is because he's different. He feels he's different and he tries to be. He worked damn hard to get to the place he wanted to be with grit, determination and pure wit. And lastly, he's black.
I should really do some research before continuing this part of the post, cause i feel lost as to why the hell do whites dislike the blacks? I really don't see why. Probably some research will enlighten me.
I'm not against racism, cause i don't think they exist. I did a whole debate on the topic of stereotyping. Although I was on the proposition, which occurs actually by chance, i felt that i myself is swayed.
To start with, Stereotypes are standardized and simplified conceptions of groups based on some prior assumptions.
In short, i mentioned that it's human nature to try to organise everything that is processed in the brain. It's how the complex human brain works. So, being against stereotyping is like telling your brain, Hey, stop. Stop trying to put some people into a same group. It's true that different people are unique individuals, but sometimes they do share SOME traits, that enables us to group them together. I wouldnt say an apple and orange are the same, but tell me, do you or do you not group them as Fruits?
Of course, apple and orange are so different cause probably orange is orange, and not to sound so superficial, oranges have higher amount of vitamin C, 45mg to 4.6mg. I won't go into the details of its scientific names or where it is usually found and such, but you know what i mean.
But before you know SOOOO much about apple and orange, you gotta to first do some research, and before that is done, you couldn't expect your brain not to just group them as fruits, right?
Therefore, if stereotyping is just a normal reflex, how then did it become such a widely debatable topic? That's where feelings comes in. When we act in a negative manner, then it becomes discrimination, and usually associated with racism, sexism, or whatever you could think of.
There you go.
And why do i feel it does not exist? Cause when we do feel something, we will have some kind of contact with the particular object of interest. So for me, it comes down to the individual, and not of the race, or the gender or what so ever.
I know how some people just feel hate for some people or objects but i cant honestly get, for my life, just where did the hate stemmed from? So as i was saying, i should do some research on the history of this deeply stemmed hate.
And news 5 is.... It's so late and i ought to sleep.
No i'm joking.
It's i spent close to 3hrs yesterday on hold with Expedia.com, and 2 hrs flat today on the phone with expedia.com, spanning approximately 5 calls, til i got banned by the operator yesterday, to get a refund for my air tickets.
The lady was so nice today, and the supervisor is too, by trying their best to help me contact Virgin America, and trying to get a waiver. I dislike the rest of the staff who tries to kill my hope by saying They can't do it.
Hah, so there.
They did it!
She was like, I'm really so sorry for the long wait..
inserts OS: I know right... it's been 2 hrs of crap music and running about during dinner, what if i suffer indigestion?
but, it's defninitely worth the wait..
i began grinning like madand i have some good news for you!
Giggles and tries to thank herBlah blah, Virigin America has decided to waive off the charges so i will be refunding you the amount.. 10 minutes while i do so..
another hold T.T
Done! Have we answered all of your questions?
I went OMG, you seriously did and i really thank you so much. You really did a great job and you helped me so much! Thanks, and grins*
This is the first bloody time i answered so truthfully about service, and i gotta say, Expedia.com does great service. Even though the wait is ridiculously long, yesterday the lady came back on the line every 3-5 minutes to update me, while this lady toay, updated me like maybe every 15-20 mins. Which is pretty nice i fell.
So satisfied, and honestly, i think Virgin's plane so much better that United.
Defo will choose to fly Virgin if i were to fly from states next time!
News flash, i officially spent an hour on this blog post, and am SO proud of myself.
Could be due to the mutiple good news i had despite the sad news that i lost my stuff AGAIN.
I should really try to stop being careless and forgetful.
