Maybe God knew I needed a little bit of love these days so he sent these angels 💕

R was a super lovely boy - sweet compassionate and considerate. I haven’t had such compliant kiddos in a while. He jumped to help me pick up things that I dropped - although it was just at my feet 😑
Of course, he’s a major sweet-talker.
“Aunty, I think you’re a super kind doctor. Do you play with all the kids you see? Do you do this everyday?”
Then the next moment, “Am i the first to praise you?”
🙄
Needless to say, I discharged him because he doesn’t need my support. “Are you happy that you don’t have to come and see me?”
“Yes!”
“But I thought you said you wanted to come and you enjoyed the session!”
“Ya, I do also!”
墙头草 😕
But I’m glad to discharge him although I feel sad knowing he’s gonna have his fair share of challenges. I pray that he’ll emerge stronger and may his sweet character never change.

M was a super oppositional and defiant boy when I first started seeing him. But he was great today, completing all tasks faster than expected, which was good because I don’t have any voice left to scold him.
So I told him about my adventures in Australia and he was so entranced (while paying attention to my use of connectors).
When I asked him if he would like an adventure but he won’t have internet, games nor his videos, he said, “Yes, but I don’t want to go alone in case I get lost. Can I go with you?”
Not that sweet but sweet enough considering how defiant he was 💕
“I don’t need games or internet all the time. I like adventures and going to explore the nature. It sounds interesting from your stories.”
Giving up screen time is huge for this boy because of permissive parenting, so I’m glad I made a difference, not just in terms of his communication abilities but sowing some seeds in character building.

Thank you for brightening up my day and sending some sparks in my post-holiday lull.
It reminded me of why I do what I do, which sometimes gets overshadowed when I see more of the world.
Reminder to myself:
Focus on your area of influence first. Think big, start small. Be kind to yourself too.
