So i'm lying down on the fluffiest white huge comfortable bed in Lyon, typing all of these down.
To be honest, I've dreamt of moments like this, when I can laze around the hotel room by myself pretending to be atas and pranced around in an oversized fluffy robe.
I guessed it finally hit me how incredibly blessed I must have been to get the opportunity to come here and learn from international researchers.
First I should write down moments of my entire trip that I want to remember the most. So I finally got the chance to go to France to visit dodobird. Call it a hunch but I really feel like she need some company at this point. So regardless of the conference, I was about to go too, but at my own expenses. But because God always provides, I found this conference and am able to earn a free trip to France. We started off at Corse, an amazing little(not so) island south of France, and the funny thing is we both had difficulties with our flights. Her flight was delayed so she had to book another flight from her place to Paris before we can both fly to corse. On my side, I actually thought I could make it in time for the next flight, cause I have a good 3 hour to transfer to another airport (CDG - ORLY) which is only like 30 mins away. But guess what, Paris's traffic suck. In that supposedly 30 minutes drive, I saw 3-4 ambulances, 3 tow trucks with xx cars being towed away. Whenever I thought that traffic is gonna clear up, a new accident happens. Like WHY PEOPLE.
Reached ORLY airport 10 mins to spare to my flight departure time, and legitly sprinted to check in my baggage and then to the departure gate. And I made it. I don't know how, but I did.
Corse was beautiful, breathtaking and insanely hot.
First day in corse:
Cass: oh my god, winter finally came for brisbane but now i'm here in summer again fml
Dorr: eh can you don't like that anot, summer is finally here after 9 months of winter.
3rd day in corse:
Dorr: i'm ready for winter, any time now.
😂😂😂
But my eyes had a feast. Swam in lakes as clear as water and frolicked in seas as blue as the sky. Corse was a perfect mix of the mountains, the towns and the sea. I'll leave the cow dung story for another day ebecause I don't think I'll ever forget. Nor will I forget the crazy windy and tiny roads that made us both car sick and sick of cars.
I would remember the feel of the sand on my feet
I would remember the sound of the waves hitting the shore
I would remember laughters floating around me
I would remember the contentment I felt within me
And I would remember the peace and ease I felt with her beside me.
She'd always make me feel at home. I'm so thankful to find her as my housemate, that we are actually always so in sync. When accommodation doesn't feel like accommodating because of love. No awkward silences, no awkward conversation starters, no pretense, no filters, just us. And I wish you the all the happiness in the world because you deserved them all.
