So it's another weekend! Technically, it's only Friday but tuanlin gave us days off so we could drive up to San francisco with Elaine and Riley who are going to Jen's birthday party!

So glad for the nice people in my life.
Lat week was pretty good cause i had a relaxing day at home on sat with my drama and xin cup noodles. Went to old town on Sunday.

Omgggg, I was walking along the roadside to the bus stop while a white Camry stopped across. I was puzzled but I continued walking cause if I miss bus 30 I'll have to wait for like another 30 minutes which is really stupid I know.

The next minute the white car is driving up and this cute beach boy was like
Hey did you need a ride or something?

I was like woaaaaaah. Thanks but no thanks and he dejectedly drove off.

I actually added the last part myself. Hehe.

Made me feel so good for the whole day at old town and bought so much stuff. Wasn't really hungry but I say down and tried the grilled chews which is pretty good considering I Iove anything with cheese.

The food here's good for me. Too good cause I'm eating soooo much.

And I bought it from this spainish looking store, actually the whole area looks spainish. And the guy was like, are you from here?

So I said no, just here for 3 months and we went on to talk about me being here at ucsd, and stuff until some other customers came along. I like how they're chatty like that. Conversational.

Rushed home cos was planning to go for dinner with Amy, but unforeseen able circumstances stopped me from doing so, plainly bus 30 friggin broke down on me again.

I swear electronics or any machines just hate me. Somehow the cryostat in the lab and bus 30 especially so. Fei has been here for what, 10 years and she's only met 1 bus 30 that broke down. I've been here for ONE freaking month and it broke down TWICE.

So I got down and walk to the nearest bus stop again, and you know what, the bus just repaired itself and the same exact bus stopped at my bus stop. ._.

Anyway, Amy was so sweet to offer to pick me up, but I didn't wanna trouble her and got home in 1.5 hr. Don't ask me. The public transport suck here. It only takes like a good 20 minutes from old town to la jolla.

But I didn't went to dinner cause Elaine already started on dinner and sy wasn't home. Promised her there's plenty of other chances!

Work has been crazily fun cause it's more of a project now. Following in vitro affirmation if mindin is secreted by western blot in conditioned media, and testing it in dermal fibroblasts and checking for their presence in nucleus for nfkb translocation, and cause up regulation of certain genes by if or Ihc.

Meanwhile, extraction of RNA is done to convert to cDNA to check for up regulation of genes via genotyping.

And paraffin embedding testing if the snail antibodies works. Woohoo feel that I've learnt so much!

I'm getting giddy cause I wore this blog post on the car while Elaine's driving. It's 7.16 and dark like crazy. Pretty dangerous! Looking forward to cisco! And the long weekend. :)
