Been reading this series of books and its not the usual genre i like, focusing more on life and family and of cos love.
But it deals with life on an utterly different manner. Although its a contemporary fantasy novel, there are a lot of references and thoughts that goes behind it.
Seduction of the innocent.
Basically, the basis of the story is magic exists. It always does based on animism. That is when everything has a spirit, and by communicating with it.
So of course politics and power always exist. Just like chaos, order, death and life. The story about these four is just amazing.
Anyway, just sharing snippets so i dont forget after i finish the book.
Anyway, it's about the writer of the comic trying to amass power. And by drawing kamic(comic), in which it always portrays a superhero saving the day and eventually killing the murderer. When the reader agrees with the 'justice upheld', that would mean that the audience agrees with the killing of the innocent before the murderer is deemed as a murderer to be killed by the superhero.
Its gaining acceptance from the innocent people, and accumulating power. That's the power of myth. Legends dont account to anything until they're told.
When i was reading the first book, i felt like i was racing against time with the character to figure out who was the mastermind with the clues and trying to keep up with the theory of magic cause magic always goes in a circle. Its a cycle.
Then as i read the second and third, it taught me more about life on its own. The creation of it. Chaos and order. And finally death. When life is given, another life is destroyed. Isnt that the very cycle of life. So life is magic itself.
I fail to mention this is kinda also like criminal psychology when you have to think like them to know what they are planning. Lol. The main lead is a FBI agent specialising in psychotic criminals. LOL
